Day two at Tyrol.
Once we got there it was time to take a breath and get one of Tyrol's famous blood Mary's and some of that popcorn to stop the burning. This was buy far the hottest drink I think I have ever had. Next time your at Tyrol wonder around the up stairs and see all the old photos of the past summer jams, old school riders and collection of vintage boards. My favorite is the Burton Backhill and the snurfers.
This was the wettest snow I think I have ever ridden in. It was always snowing put it sure looked like we were playing in the rain. As always when the ridding is this good the driving is going to be a bit of an adventure, but that's the price you pay for powder days.
In the end I heard we got 17 inches of new snow and the car was almost completely lost. Now that's more then enough snow to build that dream fort I've been thinking about, complete with in door ice rink in the west wing. If you had any urban rails you wanted to hit I would say it's go time.

Snow!!!!!!!!!
By Wednesday morning I don't even want to be able to see the car!
I finally got out riding last Sunday. Tyrol was super fun even with only the main run open. They even had a little jump and my favorite the corrugated pipe. If you have not been yet get out there this weekend or white knuckle it on out tonight in the mist of the storm. With 6-12 in the forecast I got to get out there. If you have been holding back on getting some new snow gear in fear of a late winter, well winter is on and in full affect now. So stop down and support the only shop in Madison that supports snowboarding in Madison. Pumped to go shovel!!!

Terrace Rail Jam
First Annual Terrace Rail Jam went down last week and Focus was there.
Last Wednesday I went down and helped out Matt Hartig and the Hoofers crew at the Terrace Rail Jam. The rain made it a little sketchy working but the guys know there set up and things got done faster then I would have thought.
Thursday we spent all morning moving 20 tons of ice into place and for the next two days I felt like I was hit by a truck. In the end the set up was super good and everyone did a great job getting this crazy set up done in two days. It is hard to get the scale of this set up if you weren't there in person but this thing was huge.
Then Thursday night under the lights the riders took over and the crowd was pumped and helped to push the early season riding to the next level. Strong riding from Focus team rider Nate Lavik, Madison local Ross Cotter-Brown and Wausau rider Peter Limberg where some of the stand outs as well as a bunch of hitters from around the Midwest. Congratulations Colin Tucker with first place, nice work out there.
1st place Colin Tucker
2nd place Ross Cotter-Brown
3rd place Nate Lavik

Bern Helmets!!!
Tons of colors in today from BERN. Looking for a helmet that doesn't make you look like a bobble head. Here you go, Bern has good low volume helmets that keep you safe while not hurting your riding. Last year after 14 years of riding I made the switch to wearing a helmet full time and now looking back should have years ago. So stop down and rider harder with out ending your season.

Lib Tech and GNU in the house!
Lib Tech and GNU in stock. With more time then any company in rocker boards or Banana if you will. Lib tech and GNU have it down and with the added control of Magne-Traction these boards are playful while still holding a great edge. All Lib's and Gnu boards are made in the USA at Mervin Manufacturing at the worlds greenest snowboard factory in an effort to innovate with out putting mother nature in harm way. So it's time to get a banana between your feet and stop watching everyone else have all the fun.

Candy Grind!!!!!!
Have you had a rough week? Maybe it's time to treat yourself to a little some thing nice. New this year at Focus is the glove line Candy Grind. Put these on and you will not go back to your old smelly gloves from years past. Super soft leather and a good fit are a few of the standout qualities Candy Grind is hitting you with. I'm especially pumped on the magnet closers. Stop by and slide these puppies and see for your self, you deserve it!

Burton twin looks so good
And now for the winner in my book for best graphics this year. The 2010 Burton twin looks so bad ass you have to set up your game and a kill the park. I have a Twin from 07 that is still in my quiver of boards. The Twin is powerful and playful giving you pop off jumps while still letting you butter around in the flats. This is a board you can buy to add to your quiver or take it over all together.

Never Summer SL-R
In the land of Rocker the Never Summer SL-R is near the top of the food chain. With there blend of rocker and camper the SL-R is built to bring your snowboarding to the next level. With one of the best warranties in snowboarding and a made in the USA product there are few board brands that can compete. Trust me when I tell you not all rocker boards are created equal and there are a ton of fun cambered boards out there but when done right it is a beautiful thing.
